Who am I...?

From a young age, I have always been passionate about creating music. My musical journey began in band from 5th grade to 12th, playing clarinet, alto saxophone, baritone, and tuba. I was also an active member of the choir both in school and church, growing up with a rich background in various musical styles, particularly Motown.

After high school, I explored various jobs but always felt the pull towards music production. My initial steps included playing chords on a Casio electronic keyboard and recording loops on an MPC 1000, eventually discovering FL Studio. I mastered DAWs like Protools and Reasons, and now I use Ableton and the Push 2, which has taken my creations to new heights. However, a break led me back to the industrial sector, halting my creative pursuits for a time.

Years later, inspired by advancements in technology and new distribution methods, I realized there was no longer any excuse to not pursue my passion. I began collecting equipment and diving back into the creative process. Despite the new challenges of needing to be your own videographer, photographer, social media manager, and more, I embraced these tasks. I started doing videography with a Nikon D3500 as my first DSLR camera, then moved on to smartphones like the iPhone 14 and Samsung S23, and now mainly use the Sony A7IV.

My unique talent lies in identifying gaps and finding innovative solutions. Where others see obstacles, I see opportunities for alternative routes to success. This adaptability is what sets my creative process apart.

It was during the exhilarating Web 3 bull run, at its very end, that I was introduced to GRYSKLL. This dynamic collective of seasoned hip hop veterans was driven by a shared passion for music and community empowerment. My first connection was with Dragon's Pitchfork, one of the founders, and deMond deShawn, an OG member of the crew. As time passed, I met other remarkable members: 1.To.Dial, Zo The Instrument Being, Q.aka Media Pimp, Malcom, Midskool, Yani, T-Bear 183 and many more during our weekly Zoom meetings every Wednesday.

Our collaborations started with a few creative projects that showcased our collective talent and determination. Seeing that we could push through challenges and bring our artistic visions to life, I was honored with an invitation to join GRYSKLL, then 13 members strong, making me the 12th member. This moment was pivotal, marking the beginning of a deeper connection with each member and the collective as a whole.

Over the next year, I dedicated myself to fostering relationships within the crew, not just musically but also in everyday life. The synergy we developed was profound, as each member's unique strengths fortified the collective, compensating for each other's weaknesses. This collaborative spirit became the backbone of our unity and creativity.

Through this journey, I discovered the vast potential of my talents within this collective. GRYSKLL’s mission to cultivate a deeper, more meaningful branch in the Hip Hop family tree resonated with me deeply. We strived to create mature, diverse music that inspired personal and communal growth, filling a significant gap in the genre. Our music embodied camaraderie and unity, promoting creativity, community, and supreme consciousness.

With GRYSKLL, I embraced the roles of videographer, photographer, social media manager, and more, honing my skills and contributing to our collective success. My ability to identify gaps and find innovative solutions became an invaluable asset. Where others saw obstacles, I saw opportunities, helping us navigate the complex landscape of the music industry.

Today, GRYSKLL stands as a testament to the power of unity, growth, and emotional resilience. We are recognized for our genuine, inspiring, and innovative approach. Our commitment to authenticity, integrity, and mental wealth creates a supportive environment where artists can thrive holistically.
